50 Years After Freedom Summer: Understanding the Past, Building the Future

This year marks the 50th anniversary of "Freedom Summer," the summer of 1964, when more than 800 volunteers gathered at the Western College (now part of Miami's campus) to train and prepare for registering African American voters in Mississippi.

Join us as we explore the continued significance of this event as a model for change and progress during the Freedom Summer Conference, October 11-14, 2014.

(For more about Miami's focus on Freedom Summer as a University-wide, year-long event, see Celebrating Freedom.)
