Old Western Meets New Western   ...   Gala is a success!

Dean Burt Kaufman doffed his tux jacket to model the storied WCP green plaid sport coat, a hot item in the silent auction, as Irene Bell WCP '82 looks on. On a more serious note, the auction also featured art and artifacts from Western College and the Western Program. Zambia’s U.N. ambassador, Mwelwa Musambachime,taught in the Western Program in 1984-85 as a Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence. On campus to speak to the Miami University community, he attended the gala and visits here with Diane Kaufman, WC Memorial Archives.

As chair of the Dean’s Alumni Advisory Council, Irene Bell WCP '82 (seated, center) was principal organizer of the event. At the table with her (from left): Ann Gingrich Kuehn WC '60, who helped with planning; Ben Gibbons WCP '94, Jim Boyer WCP '83, and Maria Boyer. Judy Waldron, WCAA director, boogies with her husband, Warren Waldron.WCAA staff and trustees, in Oxford for board meetings the weekend of October 19-20, joined in the festivities with alumni, faculty and staff from the Western College Program.
