Announcement – I am pleased to announce that Dr. Jeffrey Wanko, Chair and Professor of Teacher Education, has accepted the position of Associate Provost (he will assume the position formerly held by Dr. Maria Cronley). Dr. Wanko, who will be teaching in Luxembourg during the spring semester, will begin in the Provost’s office on July 1, 2017.

New Location – The Office of Student Disability Services and the Rinella Learning Center have moved from their previous location in the Campus Avenue Building to their new spaces in the newly renovated Shriver Center, room 304. Both offices will be hosting an open house early in the spring semester, so please watch for additional information.

• The next Faculty Assembly meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 24 at 4:00 p.m. in 152 Shideler. The agenda for the meeting will be sent later today.
• Nominations for Distinguished Scholar and Junior Faculty Scholar are due on Friday, January 20, 2017. You will find adescription of the awards on the OARS website and a direct link to the nomination form here.
• Miami will celebrate and recognize the efforts of our dedicated faculty and staff at the One Miami Day event on Saturday, January 14. Free tickets are available for all faculty and staff—and their families. Tickets will include admittance to both the men’s and women’s basketball games and access to inflatables, games, activities, and a free basketball clinic provided by the women’s basketball team between games.
