FSW 490/590 Professional Issues in Family Science (3)

Seminar focusing on preparing family studies major, minor, and graduate students for life (work or continued education) in the field. Topics and skill development that are covered include: family studies as a profession (e.g., what do I do with my degree?); applying for a job (e.g., resumes, cover letters, interviewing skills, job searching); professional ethics; applying for graduate school (e.g., choosing graduate programs; statements of professional goals, etc); developing a professional portfolio; and an introduction to the grant writing process.

Prerequisite: senior or graduate standing. Offered infrequently.
