SPA 211 Deaf Culture and Community (3) MPF

This course is intended to provide a comprehensive orientation to the deaf and hard-of-hearing population of the United States. Some consideration will also be given to sign systems in Europe and Africa. The students will be introduced to the sociolinguistic aspects of educational, political, and environmental impacts on deaf culture, identity, and language.
