Whether you are a full-time student or a working professional, ELM offers the flexibility to complete a course when and where you want. Whether you’re spending a semester abroad or interning in Silcon Valley, our innovative technology connects you to Miami’s renowned faculty for an unparalleled eLearning experience.
Miami University has a long tradition of academic excellence which took root over 200 years ago when Miami first opened its classroom doors. Miami’s top-ranked faculty are committed to intellectual development and academic rigor which is a critical foundation for a successful professional life. The faculty who teach on campus are the same faculty who teach in eLearning Miami courses, and they bring this same commitment to excellence to their virtual classrooms.
Faculty and Student Engagement
As an online learner in a virtual classroom it’s important to know you are not alone. You will have as much, if not more, interaction with your professors through online discussions (whether asynchronous or in "real time"), email, and online office hours. Faculty guide your learning, answer your questions, and direct you to additional resources. The cutting-edge learning platform we use allows faculty to give you detailed feedback on your homework and test scores. For more extensive feedback, a one-on-one meeting through video conferencing can be scheduled.
Interaction with your classmates is also just a click away. Chat sessions, discussion boards, online group spaces, group and class webinar meetings, and document sharing allow you to easily connect with students in your class to work on joint projects, problem solve, and network.
Current Miami Students
Miami uses the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). If you are new to Canvas and want to learn more about how to navigate through it go to the Canvas Quick Start Guide or Miami Canvas for Students web page.
Non Miami Students and Working Professionals
Are you a university student who wants to intern or travel? ELearning gives you the flexibility to take advantage of opportunities that require you to leave your campus while continuing to work toward your degree.
For working professionals, ELM allows you to maintain a balance between work, school, and personal life by continuing your career while enhancing your academic credentials.
