Medieval Studies

(18 semester hours)

This minor provides a basis for understanding and evaluating Western civilization by showing its roots in the Middle Ages. It establishes a full cultural context so students can understand and appreciate medieval literature, history, art, religion, and philosophy.

A minimum 2.0 g.p.a. is required for all courses in this minor. Courses must be taken for a grade (not credit/no-credit). Students planning to take this minor should consult with the chief departmental adviser. This minor is open to all university students but would probably be of most interest to majors in art history, classics, English, French, Italian, German, history, philosophy, religion, and Spanish.
