Students in the Farmer School of Business

Community

Miami students become members of two inseparable communities—the university and the town of Oxford. Miami students really are an integral part of the Oxford community.

With more than 9,000 permanent residents and nearly 20,000 college students who make it their home, Oxford is the perfect college town. The Oxford merchants offer a host of shops, restaurants, and services. You can buy all your books and supplies, grab a sandwich at one of Oxford's famous food spots, browse the unique shops, get a haircut, or catch the latest movie uptown. Several fast food chains, pizza places, a Kroger grocery store, and Walmart Supercenter are also just minutes from campus. Almost all areas of Oxford can be reached by the BCRTA (Butler County Regional Transit Authority), Miami University's student bus service.

Hueston Woods State Park lies just a few miles outside the city limits. It offers activities like mountain biking, sailing, rowing, hiking, camping, and a beautiful lodge.

For those who need some city life, Cincinnati and Dayton are each only about a 45-minute drive away.
