About Me
I grew up in Troy Michigan, which is a northern suburb of Detroit, and followed one of my brothers to Miami University. After graduating from Miami, I taught at Shaker Heights High School in Shaker Heights, Ohio, before returning to Miami for my Master's degree. I was a graduate assistant in the admission office and the student financial aid office and immediately joined the admission staff after completing graduate school. I have been working in the admission office ever since and absolutely love what I do. My primary responsibilities include directing the undergraduate admission review, chairing a liaison committee with representatives from all of our academic divisions, and working with the on campus team. I also love to present to parents and high school students about the admission process in general. Whether as a panelist or one-on-one, sharing information and educating others about what can be a daunting, mysterious process is one of my favorite professional things to do.
Favorite Miami Moment
There are so many! As a student, my favorite Miami moments include meeting all the extraordinary people who became life-long friends. These friends include my husband (I am a "Miami Merger," which means you are married to another Miami grad!), and our best friends and Godparents to my daughter! As the Director of Admission, my favorite Miami moment is every year as we begin the review process in October until we finalize the review in March (I truly cherish the opportunity to read the students' applications)! Secondly, I love first year move-in day when the new students arrive in August to begin to create their "favorite Miami moment"—it is such an exciting time of year!
