Law and Public Policy Scholars

A group of Miami students walking out of the White House on an Inside Washington trip

The nation’s next leaders are identified in this program. It brings together students who are passionate about law, politics, government, and public affairs. Scholars will be able to explore their interests and prepare for the future through:

  • Mentorship from a member of the Pre-Law Alumni Advisory Board.
  • Guaranteed access to all pre-law courses.
  • Enrollment in special sections of Political Science courses that explore government and public policy issues.
  • Interaction with university guest speakers, top politicians, and policymakers, allowing for a unique look at special lecture topics.
  • Shadowing experiences, which may include placement with a Miami alumnus working in state or local government.

To be considered for the Law and Public Policy Scholars Program, you must first apply to Miami University via the Common Application and indicate interest in applying to the University Academic Scholars Program. You will then receive information regarding the UASP application process. For more information, visit the honors programs application process webpage.
