Transfer Orientation Sessions

Once you have confirmed your acceptance to Miami University, we will provide CAS Orientation Advising Sessions to help you:

  • understand university requirements and policies
  • interpret the evaluation of your transfer credits
  • show how your course work fits into the Miami Plan for Liberal Education and the requirements of the College of Arts and Science
  • explore housing and meal plans
  • discuss financial aid and bill payment options
  • learn about campus expectations
  • consider student involvement opportunities
  • meet with an advisor
  • register for classes

Preparing for a Transfer Orientation Session

  • Pay your confirmation fee at the Office of Admission.
  • Request final transcript(s) from your former institution(s); send to Office of Admission, 301 Campus Avenue Building, Miami University, Oxford, Ohio 45056.
  • Request all AP credits be sent to Miami; Call College Board at (888) 308-0013 or (609) 771-7366. Miami's four-digit college code is 1463.
  • Submit your medical form to the Student Health Service; you will not be able to register for classes until this has been processed. If you need to check on your records, call (513) 529-3000.
  • Take placement exams in advance:

Signing Up for a Transfer Orientation Session

  1. You will receive information from the advising office on how to register online for one of the advising sessions
  2. Plan to arrive in Oxford at least 30 minutes before the advising session begins. You will need to allow time to find parking, walk to the program location, and sign-in.
