Kolada gift to help future gerontology students
Mark and Jodi Kolada studied gerontology at Miami University, where they both graduated with Master of Gerontological Studies (MGS) degrees in 1998. After successful careers in the field, the Koladas decided to give back to the community that brought them together.

Phyllis Cummins, Ph.D. leads efforts in adult learning and age-inclusive education
Senior Research Scholar, Phyllis Cummins, Ph.D. has been heavily involved in efforts to improve adult learning and age-inclusive education. Through numerous grants, partnerships outside of Miami University, and serving on work groups and committees, Cummins is making a difference at Scripps and beyond.

Executive Director Suzanne Kunkel, Ph.D. and O'Toole Family Professor and Scripps Research Fellow Kate de Medeiros, Ph.D. awarded first place in the American Journal of Nursing 2020 Book of the Year Award. Their book titled “Global Aging: Comparative Perspectives on Aging and the Life Course, 2nd Edition” won first place in the Gerontologic Nursing category.
