The mission of the Department of Biology is to advance the frontiers of research and education in the biological sciences through outstanding undergraduate and graduate programs, research and professional experiences, and state-of-the art facilities. Our students will be broadly trained as practitioners, scientists, educators, and leaders who work to improve human health, enhance environmental sustainability, and promote public understanding of the life sciences.
