REL students invited to submit to "The Femellectual"

"the Fem," a multimedia feminist publication produced annually by the Miami University Women’s Center. The submissions deadline is March 15. Here's the call for submissions:

We see you. You're out there smashing the white, heterosexual, cisnormative, ableist, capitalist patriarchy like the superhero you are. And we want to show the world. Send us your creative writing and art submissions for the Femellectual at We love essays, collages, word puzzles, short stories, photography, paintings, and anything else that fits flat on a page!

The Department of Comparative Religion provides students with various opportunities to explore issues of social justice, especially around gender and sexuality. Perhaps your work in one of these courses will inspire a creative submission for the Fem:

  • REL/WGS 333 - Religion, Dress, and Status
  • REL/WGS 334 - Women's Religious Experiences in the Ancient Mediterranean World
  • REL/WGS 336 - Women in the Bible
