Graduate Student Association

All graduate students automatically hold membership in the Graduate Student Association; there are no required membership fees or dues. Officers are elected during February to organize meetings and handle day-to-day operations. All graduate students are welcome to attend all GSA meetings and events. The GSA is currently involved in number of campus issues; graduate housing options and student health insurance coverage are two primary concerns.

One of GSA’s primary functions is to provide professional development opportunities for all graduate students. Additionally, social events, open to the graduate student body, are held at various times throughout the year. The GSA also sponsors a Travel Reimbursement Fund, through which graduate students in eligible departments may request expense reimbursement for professional or educational pursuits outside of Miami University, such as attending conferences and workshops. To be eligible, each department must simply have a representative present at monthly meetings.
