Visiting Assistant Professor of Media and Culture

no photoAnthony Gonzalez is an interdisciplinary media artist and educator whose interests concentrate on the sensory reception, idiosyncratic interpretation, and teleological configuration of cultural symbols and the technology (objects & systems) through which they find form and meaning. His practice investigates these perceptual processes, and that which constrain them, as the occasion for the articulation of confrontational events (agonistic interfaces) that attempt to arouse, mediate, and reconcile the dissonance between the internal and external worlds of the embodied subject. His work has been seen all over the world by internet users lost in the deep web as well as in the peripheral vision of individuals within public space. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts (NY) and a Master of Fine Arts from Hunter College (NY).
