Bob LongBob Long has worked with communication and journalism students at Miami for nearly 30 years. He currently teaches MAC/JRN 313- Advanced Radio Journalism, producing online newscasts for the Miami Public Radio Project. He also teaches MAC 215 - Electronic Media History. Bob spent 25 years in radio news, as news director of commercial radio stations in southwest and northeast Ohio, and as news director of two Ohio Public Radio stations – WKSU-FM in Kent and WMUB-FM in Oxford. In his 15 years at Miami’s public radio station, he supervised a staff of 25 students who covered stories in Ohio's Butler County and in Richmond, Ind. The station received more than 60 Ohio and Indiana Associated Press Awards and Ohio Public Broadcasting Awards, and the majority of these awards involved students. Bob received the Ohio Associated Press Broadcasters’ Carl Day Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000.
