Kreger Proclamation Open House 2015

Ribbon-cutting ceremonyAfter moving into the renovated Kreger Hall for the fall semester of 2014, the official dedication of Kreger Hall as the new home of the Department of Physics took place on April 10, 2015 on the front steps of the new facade on Spring Street. Those in attendance listened to brief talks by Department Chair Herbert Jaeger, Undergraduate Representative Jeff Brock, State Senator William Coley II, and President David Hodge. Also participating in the ribbon cutting was Provost Phyllis Callahan.

The ribbon cutting was just one event in a week-long celebration, kicked off by the annual Benson Lecture on Tuesday night with Alumnus Jeffrey Smith '91. SPS was busy during the week with physics demonstrations prior to the lecture, movie night on Thursday featuring "Interstellar," and a bonfire and potluck on Friday evening. Other events for the week included an alumni dinner, an open house and campus tours, and a student research poster session.
