Russ Starkey (Miami, 1964) attended Miami on a full Naval ROTC scholarship. He was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy and rose to the rank of Lt. Commander and assistant director of the Navy's Submarine School Engineering Division. Mr. Starkey then spent 35 years in the energy industry. He made a $150,000 gift, creating 2 scholarships that will support Miami students. He is a member of the College of Arts & Science Alumni Advisory Board.
