Your Career in the Arts: Becoming a Thriving Artist
At Miami, we don't talk about "starving artists," rather, we celebrate our thriving artists! The College of Creative Arts is very proud to have an excellent job placement rate for arts alumni. In 2016, 93.7% of seniors graduating in an arts-related major were employed within a year of graduation. In addition, Miami University has one of the highest return-on-investment statistics for public universities in the nation.
While we want our students to explore, create, and grow at Miami, we are also very serious about making sure they thrive upon graduation.
- The CCA has its own Career Center liaison, Angela Pontious, who works directly with CCA faculty and staff, and begins to work with students on Day One of their Miami experience.
- First-year students are introduced to career exploration during the fall of their freshman year and continue to build relationships with Angela and the College of Creative Arts career community, which includes faculty, staff, and a network of successful Miami alumni.
Whether your college degree takes you to Broadway or into corporate America, CCA artists thrive on the boards and in the board room!
