2015/16 Academic Year Student Achievement Data for Interior Design

Job Placement Rates. 13% of students in the 4th-Year Interior Design class began their in full-time, professional jobs in a field related to interior design and architecture in the same month they graduated.

  • 50% of the 2016 graduates secured employment within 1 months of their graduation
  • 94% of the 2016 graduates secured employment within 6 months of their graduation 
  • As of May 2017, 100% of the 2016 graduating class are working in full-time, professional positions related to interior design and architecture.
  • Some of the employing firms include BHDP (Cincinnati), BHDM (NYC), BR Design Associates (NYC), Designbridge, Ltd. (Chicago), CannonDesign (Chicago), Gensler (Chicago) Hirsh Bedner Associates (Los Angeles), Johnson Nathan Strohe (Denver), Olson Kundig (Seattle), SHYFT Collective (Columbus), Sink Combs Dethlefs (Denver), and Ventus Design (Hawaiian islands)

Acceptance into Graduate Programs. 100% of students from the 2016 graduating class who applied to graduate school were accepted.

Retention/Attrition

  • Fourth-Year ID Class: 100% of the students in the 2015/16 Fourth-Year ID Class continued from the previous third year (100% retention/0% attrition rate).
  • Third-Year ID Class: 90% of the students in the 2015/16 Third-Year ID Class continued from the previous second year (90% retention/10% attrition rate).

- Two students transferred to other programs at Miami University.

  • Second-Year ID Class: 90% of the students in the 2015/16 Second-Year Class continued from the previous first year (90% retention rate/10% attrition rate).

- One students transferred into the Architecture Program within our department
- One student transferred to another program at Miami University

Graduation Rates. 100% of the 2015/16 Fourth Year Interior Design class was awarded a BFA in interior design. And:

  • 100% of the graduates earned their degree within 4 years of declaring the Interior Design major
