Architecture Students Receive ALA Merit Award

The Association of Licensed Architects recently announced their 2014 Student Merit Award winners. Among the recipients were two recent Miami graduates, Allison Wilke and Alex Jaskowiak. Allison graduated in 2014 with her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture. Over the past summer she was an intern with the Lawrence Group in St. Louis. She is currently pursuing her Master of Architecture degree at the University of Kansas. Alex Jaskowiak received his Master of Architecture Degree from Miami in 2014. Alex has developed a sensibility for digital design methodologies and wishes to pursue a career in advanced building systems and tectonics.

The ALA Student Merit Awards are presented to students for their academic excellence and significant achievements in schools of architecture. The ALA believes these students will be assets to the profession in the future, and will continue to excel in their education and professional pursuits.
