John Weigand, Associate Dean in the College of Creative Arts and Professor of Architecture, has been appointed 2018 President of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Ohio. The AIA is the professional organization representing approximately 4,000 practicing architects in the state of Ohio.

Having served for several years as an AIA Ohio Board member, Weigand assumes the presidency for 2018. He is the first full-time architectural educator to serve as president of AIA Ohio in the organization's 83 year history.
