Senior Design Project: PAVER

A new application, the Policy And Validation Effectiveness Report (PAVER), was just developed and launched by CEC Capstone students, University Registrar, and IT Services. PAVER is for use by administrators across various departments at Miami to validate that their course schedules meet the guidelines set up by the University.

PAVER helps solve the problem of overlapping class times or room scheduling conflicts. When professors are choosing class days and times, the app will look for time blocks or days that are unevenly used and highlight them.

Even though students don’t directly use PAVER, it will benefit them by helping departments offer class schedules that result in fewer time conflicts and optimize use of classroom space. The sample graphic shows the possible criteria that administrators can input when using the application.
