This academic year, Stephanie Recker won the Anthony Sances Jr. Award of Merit at the Rocky Mountain Bioengineering Symposium. Stephanie was one of several students from the College of Engineering and Computing to attend the conference.

The conference leaders chose several students to receive the merit award, and Stephanie competed against graduate and medical school students. She is currently a senior majoring in Bioengineering with a minor in Mechanical Engineering.

Stephanie also won second place in the ‘Best Poster’ competition. Both professors and professionals alike listened to her presentation and then judged the quality of her poster design.

“I truly enjoy this research and love what I do. Dr. Sparks has provided me with so many awesome opportunities and I couldn't thank her enough!” said Stephanie.

The next Rocky Mountain Bioengineering Symposium will be in April 2016.
