2015 Provost Academic Achievement Award Winners

Two CEC students received the 2015 Provost’s Student Academic Achievement Award for their ‘outstanding record of academic excellence.’

The award is given to seniors that have achieved academic excellence and ‘sustained and significant contributions to the intellectual climate of a department, an academic division, or the campus.’ [Source.]

Nora Husani (CSE) is a software engineering major that was nominated by Louise Morman and Daniela Inclezan. She is the president and founder of ‘Kode 2 Learn,’ an organization that teaches basic coding to 90 elementary students in the Talawanda school district. She is also a member of the Lockheed Martin Leadership Institute and involved with Theta Tau, a professional engineering fraternity.

Liz Dimbath (CPB) is a bioengineering major with a pre-medical focus. Dr. Jessica Sparks nominated her for the award, as Liz has been doing collaborative research on 3D printing with her for the last several years. She is also a member of Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honors society.

Recipients of this award attended a luncheon the first week of classes and received a $1,000 scholarship.
