Paper + Wire + Battery = Sound

two females sit together to work on making a speaker

Three classes of 3rd graders from Marshall Elementary visited Benton Hall on Friday, May 20 to get hands-on experience building speakers made of paper, wire, and button battery. Working with CEC student volunteers and Dr. Mark Scott, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Marshall students prepared materials to create a speaker that ultimately played music from their science teacher's iPhone. You can tell from these photos how engaged they were in the process and they liked having their photo taken! Additional pictures can be found on our Facebook page
