3 CEC faculty members were recently promoted or received tenure

Recently, three of CEC faculty were recognized for their scholarly work and instructional ability by receiving tenure and promotion applications!

The process of receiving tenure or promotions is challenging work. The applicants must show scholarly achievement and be committed to the academic success of Miami Students. The tenure and promotion process involves rigorous evaluation by external reviewers, department faculty, program directors, chairs, deans, the divisional and university promotion and tenure committees, the Provost, the President, and final approval by the Board of Trustees.

The selection committee granted tenure to and promoted Andrew Paluch to Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical, Paper and Biomedical Engineering. In addition, Jeong-Hoi Koo and Gokhan Sahin, Associate Professors in, respectively, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering Departments, were promoted to Full Professor.

All of these decisions will be effective on August 19, 2019.

Please join me in congratulating Andrew, Jeong-Hoi and Gokhan on this crucial recognition of their pedagogical and scholarly accomplishments and service to their departments, division, university and profession.
