LSAMP Program at Miami receives its largest group yet of minority students pursuing the STEM fields
August 23 marked the end of Miami's third annual early arrival program for the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP), which is a federally funded initiative to promote engagement and success of minority students in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields

Jacqueline Rioja-Velarde and Katherine Fowler-Cordova of Miami University will receive awards from the Ohio Latino Affairs Commission for outstanding achievements in professional and community service and for serving as role models for the Hispanic community in Ohio.

Celebrate the Latin American and Caribbean UniDiversity Festival Sept. 23
Miami University celebrates the 14th annual Latin American and Caribbean UniDiversity Festival Friday, Sept. 23, at the Uptown Parks in Oxford. The festival runs 5:30-9 p.m. and is free and open to all.

Knowing their tribal identity helps Native American students succeed
The four-year graduation rate for Native American students across the U.S. is 22.5 percent, but at Miami University, where Miami Tribe students learn the language and culture of their heritage in addition to their other curricular studies, 58 percent graduate in four years.
