Jim Tobin, Miami University associate professor of journalism, has put a new twist on an old nursery rhyme favorite. Sue MacDonald Had a Book uses the rhythmic structure of "Old MacDonald Had a Farm" to provide the story's framework, which teaches children about vowels.
As renovations continue in the new One Eight 09 Room - formerly the 1809 Room located in Shriver Center - an alternative location for faculty and staff to enjoy on campus dining opens Monday, Aug. 24, in the Goggin Ice Center club room.
The Howe Center for Writing Excellence and the office of liberal education invite first-year students to enter a composition contest in conjunction with this year's summer reading.
