Miami leads Ohio public colleges with number of double majors

It's not always easy to find a passion in life, but a number of students at Miami University have been fortunate enough to find two. On average for the years 2003-2007, nearly 10 percent of Miami's students have been double majors, receiving a second major in the same degree area, making Miami the leader in the number of double majors at public universities throughout Ohio.


Students receive academic achievement awards

During Miami University's Bicentennial Convocation, nine students were recognized for their remarkable record of academic achievement and their contribution to the intellectual climate at Miami University. Each of these scholars were honored with the $1,000 Provost Student Academic Achievement Award, which is granted annually to approximately 10 - 15 students who have completed their junior year.

Editorial about Teach for American mentions that of the top 20 large schools (defined as 10,000 undergraduates or more) supplying the most graduates for Teach for America, two are in Ohio: Miami University and Ohio State University.
