Miami University's board of trustees has approved a recommendation to keep tuition frozen for Ohio students through the fall and spring semesters 2009-2010, but to increase tuition by 3.5 percent for summer sessions.

A panel discussion on hazing will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, in 25 Farmer School of Business. The discussion is part of a series of events scheduled at Miami University during National Hazing Prevention Week, Sept. 21-25.
Rina Kundu, assistant professor of art education at the College of Visual Arts and Design, University of North Texas, will present "Ring of Truth: Visual Mediation" at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Miami University Art Museum.
Geochemist Robert Hazen, research scientist at the Carnegie Institution of Washington's Geophysical Laboratory and Clarence Robinson Professor of Earth Science at George Mason University, will present "Genesis: The Scientific Quest for Life's Origins" at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, in 115 Shideler Hall at Miami University. His talk is the annual Baldwin Frontiers in Geology lecture sponsored by the department of geology.

Two Butler County corn mazes pay tribute to Miami University's 200th anniversary this fall. One is the RedHawk profile and the other is a Miami bicentennial logo maze. Students used a GPS-guided lawn mower for the RedHawk maze.
