The Howe Center for Writing Excellence has announced the recipients of three grants for the 2009-2010 academic year. The goal of these awards is to support high-impact projects that will help students write better and learn more through writing.
Miami University's Global Rhythms Ensemble will present two concerts featuring world music from leading guest artists, ensembles and Miami performing groups - more than 400 artists overall - at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 2 and 3, in Hall Auditorium.

Michael Dantley, associate provost and professor of educational leadership, will give the keynote lecture on educational leadership and social justice for the National College for Leadership of Schools and Children's Services (NCLSCS) in London, England, Sept. 24.

A dinner prepared by French Master Chef Jean-Robert de Cavel and a team of five culinary students from the Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State was a benefit to raise scholarship funds for the culinary students as well as a new collaboration between Cincinnati State and Miami Middletown. A string trio from Miami's School of Fine Arts performed.
