An improving financial report was delivered to Miami University trustees at the Dec. 9 meeting, due to many steps the university has taken to boost revenues and reduce operating costs. Such steps come via strategic priorities initiatives developed by a task force of universitywide staff and faculty.
Miami University announces the formation of its Lockheed Martin Leadership Institute within the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS). The institute brings about a visionary approach to preparing engineering leaders who possess high ethical standards and who are committed to creative and effective leadership.
Phyllis Callahan, professor of zoology, has been named dean of Miami University's College of Arts and Science, effective Jan. 12, 2012. She has served as interim dean since January of this year.
