The 2010 production of the Massenet's "Cendrillon" by Miami University Opera has been awarded second prize in the 2011 Opera Production Competition sponsored by the National Opera Association (NOA).
Miami University's end-of-semester pilot of a new online course evaluation platform opens Sunday, Dec. 4, for students and closes Sunday, Dec. 18. The pilot includes nearly 900 classes representing all academic divisions, with the goal to move all classes to online evaluations by fall of 2012.

Today, take "A moment with ... Gwen Fears, associate dean of students." Gwen Fears began her career with Miami University in August of this year. Just two months into her position, she received the 2011 Outstanding Orientation Professional award from the National Orientation Directors Association (NODA). Fears fills us in on her national award and on her journey that led to Miami.
The university community is invited to a reception Friday, Dec. 9, to honor Steve Snyder, secretary to the board of trustees and executive assistant to the president, as he retires from Miami.
Banner, BannerWeb and other services (view complete list) will be unavailable from 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, until late on Sunday, Dec. 4. During this time, IT services will upgrade Banner and Banner hardware.

Miami University's Dance Theatre will present concerts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, in Hall Auditorium. The concerts combine elements of many dance forms, with music that ranges from Queen and Lady Gaga to Philip Glass and Foday Musa Suso. Ticket information available at the Miami University box office.
