A new exhibit hosted by Miami University's Hefner Zoology Museum, "Take a Closer Look at Our Natural World," designed by Brittany Christian, a master's student in chemistry education research, will run Jan. 26-Feb. 24.
Dana Oldfather of Cleveland is the winner of the 2012 Miami University Young Painters Competition for the $10,000 William (Miami '36) and Dorothy Yeck Award sponsored by Miami's Hiestand Galleries, School of Fine Arts. Oldfather was selected for her work "Sage and Elephants."

At the Monday, Jan. 23, Miami University Senate meeting, Provost Bobby Gempesaw announced the continuation of the process of evaluating the role of Miami's regional campuses. On the consent calendar, Senate received the curriculum report and minutes of Senate committees.
Claude W. Spencer, retired director of public safety at Miami University, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Mercy Fairfield. Spencer, 83, began working at Miami in 1977 and retired with emeritus status in 1993.
