An international French-Language Comics conference will be held Nov. 2-3. Scholars and cartoonists specializing in French-language comics will present their research. The conference will consolidate recent gains in English-language scholarship on French-language comics and will showcase new avenues of research in this fast-evolving form. It is free and open to the general public. All talks will be in English. Click here for a conference program.
Miami University students will have the opportunity to preview the legal landscape at the pre-law program's annual Law Day Fair 11 a.m.-2 p.m., in the multipurpose room, Shriver Center. Representatives from 76 laws schools will be on hand to meet with interested students.
Healthy Miami and McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital offers a comprehensive cholesterol education and reduction class 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, in conference room 1 at the hospital.

Muslims in America Program
JoAnn D'Alisera, associate professor of anthropology and director of religious studies at the University of Arkansas, will present "Exhibiting Piety: Islamic Dress and the Public Life of Sierra Leonean Muslim Identity in an American Urban Landscape" at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, in the Shriver Center Heritage Room. Her talk is part of the Muslims in America program sponsored by the Center for American and World Cultures.
