Miami's Over-the-Rhine Residency Program receives accolades

Miami University's Over-the-Rhine Residency Program received accolades in the national competition for the C. Peter Magrath University Community Engagement Award. Miami's program narrowly missed winning the Magrath Award, announced at the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities annual conference in November.

"Smart" meters to be tested on campus for 90 days

Miami University's parking services office will pilot-test "smart" parking meters from Nov. 28 to Feb. 26, 2013, that are anticipated to make short-term parking easier on campus.


Nominations sought for University Distinguished Professor appointment

The awards and recognition committee of University Senate seeks nominations for faculty members deemed qualified to be honored by the designation "University Distinguished Professor." Application deadline is Friday, Dec. 7, to Allan Winkler, winkleam@miamioh.edu.


Distinguished Lecture in Microbiology Nov. 28

William (Clay) Fuqua, professor of biology at Indiana University, Bloomington, will present "Sticking to your point: deployment and function of a unipolar polysaccharide adhesin by Agrobacterium tumefaciens" at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, in 218 Pearson Hall. It is the Distinguished Lecture in Microbiology sponsored by the microbiology department.
