A search firm has been named to assist the committee that will seek a new director of intercollegiate athletics at Miami. Previous director Brad Bates has accepted the same position at Boston College.
Folklore and fairy-tales scholar Jack Zipes will visit Miami University to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Brothers Grimm's Household Tales in a guest lecture series, Nov. 7 and 8.
The Ronald and Avis Romm Trumpet and Piano Duo will perform a recital, "A Trumpeter's Dream," at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, in Souers Recital Hall. Ron is a former and founding member of the Canadian Brass.

Women Helping Women stepped in at the last minute to take over the Butler County Rape Crisis program in Oxford after St. Aloysius voted to drop the program. The program is funded through a $101,000 state grant and about $30,000 in matching funds from the Miami University Parents Fund and donations from individuals and other organizations.
