Thornton Wilder's "Our Town" opens April 5

The Miami University department of theatre presents "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder at 8 p.m. April 5-7 and April 12-14, and at 2 p.m. April 15, in Gates-Abegglen Theatre. Directed by Ann Elizabeth Armstrong, associate professor of theatre, it is the 13th annual John D. Yeck Mainstage Production.

Build a kinetic contraption at the Oxford Kinetics Festival

The third annual Oxford Kinetics Festival will be held noon-3 p.m. Sunday, April 1, at Millett Hall. The festival is a "celebration of creativity in motion," featuring kinetic sculptures, robotics and monster bicycles. Participants can build their own kinetic "contraption" at an open workshop 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, March 31, in the sculpture studio in Hiestand Hall.

"A Miami moment with...Bobbe Burke"

Bobbe Burke, coordinator of off-campus affairs and Miami tribal relations, is one of only several people named an honorary member of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma. One of her roles is to encourage and facilitate interaction by Miami students, faculty and staff with tribal members.

Vote for the best study-abroad photo

Miami University students and alumni who participated in the study abroad program between summer 2011 and fall 2011 submitted photos for an online competition sponsored by the office of international education.

  • A film screening of "The Forgetting Game," produced by independent filmmaker and Miami alumnus Pulkit Datta, '08, will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, April 2, 121 Peabody Hall. A graduate of Miami's Western College Program, Datta will be on hand to answer questions after the screening. The film screening is sponsored by the Western Program, Center for American and World Cultures, honors and journalism programs and the department of communication.
