Winning its eighth consecutive national crown on Saturday evening at the 2012 U.S. National Championships, Miami University's collegiate synchronized skating team tied figure skater Michelle Kwan's record of eight-straight national titles. The RedHawks had already set the record for most consecutive national titles at any level of synchronized skating in 2011.
After 16 seasons at the helm of the Miami University men's basketball program, 22 seasons as a collegiate head coach (all in the Mid-American Conference) and nearly half a century as a basketball coach at various levels, Miami University head coach Charlie Coles announced his retirement Monday night, following the RedHawks loss to Toledo in the first round of the MAC Tournament.

The Classified Personnel Advisory Committee (CPAC) is now accepting nominations of classified employees to fill spots that become vacant at the end of the academic year. Employees may also submit their own names to be considered for appointment.
The special issue of the Miami Report on Promotion and Tenure 2012 is available to view in PDF format online. Thirty-seven faculty members were conferred tenure and/or promotion by Miami's board of trustees Feb. 3. The document is available on the provost's website under "Reports."
