John Cooper, head coach at Tennessee State University for the past three seasons, has been named to direct Miami University's men's basketball team, Brad Bates, director of athletics, announced Friday, April 6.
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones are touring with their original line-up - the first time in 20 years. They will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 20, at Millett Hall. The lineup includes pianist/harmonica player Howard Levy, bassist Victor Wooten, percussionist Roy "Futureman" Wooten and banjoist bandleader Fleck.

John Glass, director of the J. Craig Venter Institute (JCVI) Synthetic Biology Group, will present "Synthetic Biology: Digitizing Life" at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, in 128 Pearson Hall. His lecture, targeted for a general audience, is the Orton K. Stark Lecture in Microbiology.
