Miami University placed 89th of 339 schools competing in the RecycleMania 2012 Tournament's Per Capita Classic, with 16.45 cumulative pounds recycled per person on campus during the eight-week competition. This was an increase from 96th place (of 363 schools) and 16.1 pounds recycled per person in 2011.

Ruchelle Dunwoody works primarily with two sets of clients as director of intramural club sports and summer camp for Miami University's recreational sports center. The first set, ages 6-12, reminds her of her childhood days; and the second set, ages 18-22, brings out the child in her. Dunwoody ends spring semester gearing up for summer camp and planning for fall intramural sports.
Miami University's departments of mathematics and statistics held an awards banquet on April 4 in the Shriver Center. This year a total of $32,225 in scholarship money was awarded.
