A team of Miami electrical and computer engineering students from Miami University won $4,000 and second place in the third annual ION Autonomous Snowplow Competition held Jan. 24-27 in St. Paul, Minn.
With the recent replacement of the trash compactor at the Dempske Culinary Support Center (DCSC) with a 30-yard organic compactor, Miami has started to include organic waste in the recycling stream. The organic compactor has also allowed for implementation of several composting and recycling pilot projects on campus this month.
