Corporate Personhood focus of Strippel Memorial Continuing Dialogue on Justice and Human Rights Program Feb. 7-8

Activist and lawyer David Cobb, National Projects director for Democracy Unlimited, will present "We the People, Not We the Corporations" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, in 115 Shideler Hall. His talk is part of the Robert E. Strippel Memorial Continuing Dialogue on Justice and Human Rights Program sponsored by the Center for American and World Cultures. The program continues with a roundtable discussion on "Implications of Corporate Personhood in Ohio," 9:30 a.m. to noon, Friday, Feb. 8, in 212 MacMillan Hall.

Inaugural JANUS Forum welcomes Ari Fleischer and Ezra Klein

Ari Fleischer, former White House press secretary for U.S. President George W. Bush, and Ezra Klein, a current political columnist for The Washington Post and Bloomberg, headline the inaugural JANUS Forum Lecture 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, in the Taylor Auditorium, Farmer School of Business, Miami University. The talk is free and open to the public. The public is also invited to a reception with the speakers following the event in the Farmer School's Forsythe Commons.


Jazz Ensemble and Chamber Singers: OMEA Preview Concert Feb. 5

The Jazz Ensemble, directed by Jeremy Long, and the Chamber Singers, directed by William Bausano, will perform at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, in Hall Auditorium. The free concert is a preview of their upcoming performance the annual Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) Professional Development Conference to be held Feb. 7-9 in Columbus.

  • Women's basketball
    Faculty and staff are invited to the Miami University women's basketball game 7 p.m. Wednesday against Toledo in Millett Hall. It is Military Appreciation Day. If you are an active duty, reserve or veteran of the United States Military, you will have free admission compliments of Head Coach Maria Fantanarosa. It is also a Dollar Days game, which means $1 admission for all other fans, as well as select concession items for only $1.
