The Miami University department of music will present "A Grand Night in Vegas" at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 22 and 23, in Hall Auditorium. "Grand Night" features many of Miami's finest vocalists and instrumentalists in an evening of song and dance showcasing hit songs that made "Sin City" famous.
Tiejun Xia, adjunct professor of electrical and computer engineering at Miami University, was elected a Fellow of the Optical Society of America (OSA). He is recognized for his significant contributions to high-speed optical transport network technology and architecture development.

Miami students may nominate their grandparent(s) for Miami's Grandparents of the Year recognition by March 22. Every grandparent nominated will be honored at the annual Miami Grandparents of the Year ceremony at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 18. The annual Miami Grandparents of the Year celebration is sponsored by Scripps Gerontology Center.
