The books have closed, the numbers are in, and The Miami University Campaign For Love and Honor has been declared a resounding success.
Mike Armstrong (Miami '61) announced during the Feb. 7 Armstrong Student Center dedication, that he and his wife Anne Gossett Armstrong (also Miami '61) have made an additional $3 million gift to Miami University. From it, $2 million will create the Armstrong Student Engagement and Leadership (SEAL) Scholarship and $1 million supports the planned Armstrong Student Center east wing expansion project.
Miami University trustees at their Feb. 7 board meeting approved the promotion and/or tenure of 43 faculty members and the continuing contract and/or promotion of seven librarians.
Dahlia Lithwick, a senior editor for Slate and the 2013 National Magazine Award recipient for legal commentary, will give the annual O'Hara Lecture on Law and Politics at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, in 128 Pearson Hall. Free and open to the public, the lecture is co-sponsored by the Miami University department of political science and pre-law program.
