Miami Middletown receives $2.6 million gift

The Middletown Community Foundation on Tuesday announced the largest gift in its 38-year history, a $5.2 million bequest from the estate of James R. Myers. The gift will fund several permanent endowments at the Middletown Community Foundation to benefit multiple charities throughout the area, with half of the funds dedicated to the support of Miami University Middletown.

"Balance from Within," a mechatronic sculpture created by Miami University artist Jacob Tonski, is on display in China in an exhibition of cutting-edge media art.

Bob Schmidt, university archivist, to retire

The Miami community is invited to a reception to thank Bob Schmidt, (Miami Ph.D. '85) university archivist and assistant librarian, as he retires from the Miami University archives.

Recognizing 50 years of service to Miami

Barbara Wilson, administrative assistant for the department of biology (formerly botany), will retire June 27 after more than 50 years of service to Miami.

Miami mourns the passing of former "First Lady" Martha Shriver

Martha Nye Shriver, former "First Lady" of Miami (1965-1981) and wife of Miami University President Phillip R. Shriver, died Sunday, June 22, at her home. She was 90.
