Required Withdrawal from the Program

Occasionally the program needs to counsel a student out of the major because of lack of progress, issues with professional dispositions, or an inability to complete student teaching. Based on the particular issue, sometimes a student is allowed to graduate without student teaching, and therefore without licensure. Further, any egregious violation of professional dispositions that violates the safety and protection of children may result in a required withdrawal from the program. In all of these circumstances, the student will have the opportunity to be heard, and divisional and university policy will be adhered to.
