  • When you graduate, you are licensure eligible and can apply for your Ohio social work license. For licensure information, see the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.
  • The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is the largest membership organization of professional social workers in the world. It works to enhance the professional growth and development of its members, to create and maintain professional standards, and to advance sound social policies.
  • Miami’s undergraduate social work program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). The Council of Social Work Education (CSWE) requires social work programs to provide student assessment data to the public. This is one part of the 2008 Educational Policies and Accreditation Standards (EPAS) and the overall movement to make curriculum competency-based with the ongoing assessment of student performance. CSWE articulates ten broad competencies and forty-one specific practice behaviors for social work students to acquire. All social work programs are required to assess student performance and use this information in an ongoing fashion to improve curriculum.
